The Property

A working flour mill until 1962. Now, mostly water.

The mill closed sixty years ago and the building sat. We took it over in 2016 and spent two years pulling out drywall, exposing the original stone, and learning how the pond freezes in winter. The waterwheel still turns. We use it for nothing.

"Quiet. The word for the whole place is quiet."

The warm towel they put on my eyes after the massage. I have thought about it three times this week.
Hannah R.
"
I went in at one o'clock and walked out at four-thirty and could not have told you what hour it was. Worth every dollar.
Daniel K.
"
Quiet. The word for the whole place is quiet. The pond, the rooms, the way the staff move. I drove home without the radio on.
